Peer Review Policy

The Global Journal of Clinical Medicine and Health Sciences (GJCMHS) recognizes peer review as an essential component of scholarly publishing and scientific quality assurance. The journal’s peer-review framework is intended to support the critical evaluation of manuscripts concerning clinical medicine, biomedical sciences, public health, and allied health disciplines.

The peer-review process aims to assess scientific validity, methodological rigor, originality, clinical relevance, ethical compliance, and the reliability of reported findings. Editorial and review procedures are guided by principles of fairness, confidentiality, transparency, academic independence, and responsible scientific communication.

All submitted manuscripts undergo preliminary assessment by the editorial office prior to external review to verify scope alignment, ethical documentation, and methodological adequacy.

Peer Review Evaluation Criteria

Independent clinical and health science experts evaluate submitted manuscripts across six core parameters:

Scientific Originality

The extent to which the manuscript contributes relevant knowledge or offers a meaningful scholarly perspective.

Methodological Rigor

The suitability of the research design, sampling procedures, analytical techniques, and methodological reporting.

Clinical & Scientific Relevance

The importance of the findings for clinical practice, biomedical research, healthcare delivery, or public health.

Research Transparency

The completeness and clarity of procedures, results, study limitations, and relevant disclosures.

Ethical Compliance

Adherence to applicable requirements concerning IRB ethical approval, patient informed consent, and confidentiality.

Interpretation & Conclusions

The consistency of the conclusions with the reported evidence and the acknowledgment of study limitations.

Editorial Decision Categories

Accept The manuscript meets the journal’s scientific and editorial requirements and is suitable for publication, subject to any necessary technical corrections.
Minor Revision Limited revisions are required to improve clarity, presentation, interpretation, or reporting prior to final decision.
Major Revision Substantial modifications are necessary to address significant scientific, methodological, or interpretive concerns.
Reject The manuscript does not adequately satisfy the journal’s requirements for scientific quality, relevance, validity, or ethical acceptability.

Reviewer & Editorial Responsibilities

Reviewers and handling editors are bound by strict professional and ethical conduct standards:

  • Evaluate manuscripts objectively and provide substantiated scientific criticism.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of unpublished research, patient data, and manuscript information.
  • Declare actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest prior to accepting review assignments.
  • Decline review assignments when required subject expertise or availability is insufficient.
  • Identify substantial methodological concerns, unsupported conclusions, or possible research integrity issues.
  • Avoid using privileged manuscript information for personal, professional, or competitive advantage.

Appeals, Editorial Independence & Integrity

Authors may submit a reasoned appeal when an editorial decision involves potential procedural irregularities or substantive scientific misunderstandings. Appeals are evaluated strictly on their academic and procedural merits.

Editorial decisions remain completely independent of publication fees, commercial interests, or institutional affiliations, following COPE and ICMJE recommendations.

Commitment to Peer Review Quality: The Global Journal of Clinical Medicine and Health Sciences is committed to maintaining a peer-review framework that supports scientific accountability, informed editorial judgment, and the responsible publication of medical research.
