Aims & Scope

Aim

The International Journal of Surgical Nursing Therapeutics aims to promote and disseminate high-quality, evidence-based research in the field of surgical and perioperative nursing. The journal focuses on improving clinical practice by encouraging original research, innovative nursing interventions, and advanced therapeutic approaches that enhance patient outcomes and surgical care quality. It also aims to bridge the gap between research and clinical implementation, supporting the continuous professional development of nursing professionals and contributing to the improvement of global healthcare standards in surgical nursing practice.

Scope

The scope of the journal covers the complete spectrum of surgical and perioperative nursing care, including all stages of patient management before, during, and after surgery. It includes pre-operative patient assessment, preparation, and counseling; intra-operative nursing roles and operation theatre practices; and post-operative care, monitoring, and recovery management.

The journal also includes specialized areas such as wound care management, dressing techniques, infection prevention and control in surgical environments, pain assessment and pain management strategies, and emergency and critical care surgical nursing. It gives importance to patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives within surgical units and healthcare institutions.

In addition, the journal welcomes research related to rehabilitation and long-term recovery after surgery, nursing education and training in surgical care, evidence-based clinical guidelines, standardized nursing protocols, and innovative technologies in perioperative nursing practice. Clinical case studies, audits, systematic reviews, observational studies, and randomized controlled trials that contribute to surgical nursing knowledge are also within the scope of the journal.
